NOSTALGIA, FARM, BARN OIL PAINTING BY TOM BROWN

“HIDDEN STORIES”
6x8 inch original oil painting
By Tom Brown

Have you ever explored an abandoned country property and felt the nostalgic sense of those who came before? Livestock and people are now long gone. The property is now decaying, returning to nature. All is quiet.

Weeds crunch underfoot and insects hum into the air, rising in small clouds as they are disturbed from their routine.

Dried barn siding creaks in the breeze, threatening to collapse.

Structures once essential to those who worked the land now sit idle after years of use. The patchwork construction of now abandoned buildings reveals generations of modification made to meet the demands of the moment. And they are needed no longer.

Rich stories are embedded here, waiting to be revealed . . . or maybe just captured in paint.

As always, let me know if this delights you too. Or if you want it. tombrownstudio@cox.net
