I have always had a profound respect and
curiousity for the world's tallest or largest things. I'm sure most of this
comes from the many long car rides as a child, looking out the window from the
back seat of our station wagon. My favorite of all of our excursions was
traveling to the Sierras, and this painting is an example of one of the scenes I
would get excited about. The same feelings I had then still remain today as I
try to describe them on canvas. I hope it comes across.
