ANCIENT GUARDIAN, TREE by TOM BROWN

CLICK HERE for this 11x14-inch oil painting among my eBay auctions.
This one was really fun to paint. I wanted to get the feel of the rough textured bark into this painting. The weathered look of this ancient tree. And the endless detail of countless limbs and branches. This took much longer than my typical plein air painting, and it was painted in the studio where I wasn’t racing the sun. I took my time and layered colors upon colors, texture upon texture. I really like the overall look and feel of this one. It really captured what I was after. I hope you like it too.
