This is a 6x8 inch original oil painting.
“Methuselah” is a 4,847-year-old Bristlecone Pine Tree, considered to be the world’s oldest known living organism. It can be found growing high in Eastern California’s White Mountains at 10,000 feet above sea level in the Inyo National Forest, California.
The Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest is home to the oldest trees in the world, many exceeding 4000 years of age. Over the centuries the wind has sculpted the trees into spectacular gnarled and twisted forms of living art.
Hidden among many other Bristlecone Pine Trees in the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, Methuselah’s exact location is kept a secret by the forest service – which means that nobody is exactly sure which one is actually Methuselah. But this may very well be it.
