I found a black and white photo in a New York Times magazine of a fashion designer taken in the 1940s. She was in this pose and had a timeless quality about her. She looked very modern. The first painting (Red) shows the outfit she had on. I then embellished the flats and added socks. I loved the pose and decided to use it again but with different styles.
